Smart Guide: Scalable Wellness for At-Risk Employees

Helping a global insurance company engage at-risk employees before disability claims through a modular, scalable wellness platform.

The Challenge

A major insurance and financial company came to NeuroFlow with a growing problem: how to support the wellness of their blue-collar workforce—employees facing tough physical demands, inconsistent healthcare access, and increasing disability claims. They needed more than a one-size-fits-all solution.

Internally, NeuroFlow’s product focused on behavioral health after someone entered care. This client asked us to flip that: could we build something proactive, accessible, and trustworthy—before anyone filed a claim?

My Role

I led the end-to-end design of a brand-new experience: from concept and UX to visual identity and systems thinking. My goal? Make preventive care approachable, personalized, and engaging for users—and repeatable for clients.

We designed an assessment-driven web and mobile wellness experience that could intelligently guide users to the right care at the right time, providing personalized and tailored resources based on their assessment answers. This initial effort became the Holistic Wellness program for the global insurance company—the first implementation of what we later called the Smart Guide.

A Story-Driven Landing Page

The consumer facing landing page told a clear story:

Take an assessment → Get tailored support → Live better.

  • Crafted approachable content to resonate across demographics

  • Co-branded with employer logos for legitimacy, but led with NeuroFlow to build trust

  • Addressed common concerns like privacy and data-sharing with clean, accessible UI

  • Utilized a soft approachable color palette to appeal to a wide audience

Landing Page

Assessment-Led Personalization

  1. No sign-up gate. Just dive in.

  2. Designed to feel helpful, not clinical—questions framed in everyday language

  3. Built rapid feedback into the experience so users saw immediate value

  4. Risk levels mapped to curated content, programs, and referrals

Lightweight, Frictionless Assessment

Personalized Smart Referrals

Users were guided to employer-specific programs and activities based on assessment outcomes.

  1. Low risk? Engaging self-care content.

  2. Moderate risk? Targeted guidance with optional support.

  3. High risk? Immediate connection to care coordinators or the employer’s Stay-At-Work program.

This wasn't just content routing—it was an adaptive care path designed to meet users where they were.
